Vanessa recorded and soloed while in her youth and college years, and recently she was selected as the vocalist for the DVD “Expressions Of Our Savior” a compilation of inspirational artwork by Greg Olsen. She just completed her debut solo album, "THE VOICE", as well as her debut inspirational album, "SWEET BY AND BY". She has performed throughout the country and overseas. Professional Accomplishments
When Vanessa was only 4 she started playing the violin and performed regularly in orchestras throughout her youth in Minneapolis including "All City Orchestra". She soloed in concerts and also traveled the Twin Cities to play in many quartets which began an early start to her career performing in front of large audiences. This was the beginning of her musical training and an experience she will always treasure. While continuing to study the violin, her teacher discovered she had a voice too.
She starred in her first Gilbert and Sullivan Operetta at age 13. While in Jr. High school Vanessa received several music scholarships and soloist awards, including Best Actress, and Best Singer in the National Jr. Honor Society, and later achieved the National Choral Award and All-American Hall of Fame Choral Honor.
Vanessa was awarded highest ratings three consecutive years while competing in the State Music Contest-Festival. In the National Federation of Music Festivals, one of the largest music organizations in the world, she again achieved highest ratings of Superior-Outstanding two consecutive years. She earned her degree in Music from Brigham Young University and also received a music scholarship. At Ricks College Vanessa was a member of Showtime Company and performed, soloed and toured throughout the country.
After receiving her degree in Music Vanessa received certification in Houston, Texas to teach Musikgarten to small children and has taught voice and violin lessons to students of all ages. She also taught vocal instruction and theatre classes while working for Texas Stars Performing Arts Company. Vanessa was the music director for South Bay Elementary and in the Lacey Jr. High schools music theatre productions in Washington. She was a model for Step Two Company. She has held major leads in opera, theatre and musical productions across the United States. She has performed with a variety of prestigious ensembles including; Sweet Adeline's, Augusta Chamber Singers, CWRU Chorale, concert choirs, madrigal groups, jazz bands, women's choruses, and show choirs. She has shared the stage with many accomplished singers including Grammy award winner Billy Dean, and NBA star Thurl Baily. Vanessa also worked for and performed with Jazz Musician, composer, and whistler Ron McCroby and pianist Marvin Goldstein.
